Best Bike Under 80000 (Top 6)
Bike | Price | Mileage |
Bajaj Pulsar NS 160 | Rs 78,400 | 55 KMPL |
The NS 160 is the latest Pulsar model from
Bajaj Auto Ltd (BAL). Based on the NS 200, the new 160cc model looks much like its elder sibling but comes with a smaller engine and slightly less features. Priced just under the Rs 80000 mark, it’s available only in one model. Thanks to a modern design, a long list of features, a powerful engine and decent mileage, the Bajaj Pulsar NS 160 has to be the best bike under 80000 rupees as per us.

Honda CB Hornet 160R | Rs 79,892.00 onwards | 50 KMPL |
The CB Hornet 160R is one fine motorcycle, but isn’t exactly cheap. With a starting price of just under 80000, the Hornet manages to find the second spot on our list of top motorcycles under 80000 rupees. The Hornet looks really muscular and has the proverbial ‘big bike feel’. It has got a sufficiently punchy engine that’s high on refinement. The Hornet offers a well-rounded package – good looks, refined yet punchy engine, sorted dynamics and the Honda reliability. It’s just that this bike is slightly on the pricier side.

The Suzuki Gixxer 155 is another really capable streetnaked that makes it to this list of top motorcycles below Rs 80000. Akin to the Hornet, the Gixxer 155 looks really muscular and offers a smooth engine. It’s also slightly more fuel efficient than the Hornet. The only downside we can think of is the fact that Suzuki’s after-sales network in India isn’t as vast as that of Honda Motorcycles and Scooters India or Bajaj. Also, the fact that the Pulsar NS 160 offers a bit more value means the Gixxer 155 finds the third spot on this list. Still, this one’s a really capable motorcycle.

TVS Apache RTR 160 | Rs 75,089 | 55 KMPL |
The Apache RTR 160 has to be the sharpest of all the bikes here. Thanks to a rev-happy engine, low kerb weight, sharp handling and a well-tuned suspension, the RTR 160 is a hoot to ride. Also, a lower kerb weight also helps enhance the fuel efficiency. On the flip side, the bike is fast getting dated and will soon see a complete model replacement. But thanks to an attractive sticker price, the RTR 160 is still one of the best bikes for less than Rupees 80000.

Yamaha FZ F1 | Rs 80,726 | 50 KMPL |
The FZ is easily the oldest streetnaked model here. However, thanks to the muscular styling along with
Yamaha ‘s regular efforts to keep the bike fresh have made sure that this bike finds a spot on this list. The FZ has sorted dynamics, it looks butch and has the Yamaha badge. Negatives? Well, it’s getting a bit long in the tooth now, in spite of the gazillion updates. Also, it’s not as powerful as its newer competition. Finally, introduction of fuel injection has made the bike a bit expensive. Still a good buy if you’re a Yamaha fan.

The Bajaj Pulsar 150 DTSi just about manages to find a spot on this list here. Well, this bike is getting a bit too long in the tooth now, but the fact that it still offers a good mix of performance and mileage works well for it. Also, with an extensive service network and really cheap spares, the Pulsar 150 DTSi is easy on the pocket. Finally, it enjoys a pretty good resale value, too.
